First Sunday of Advent |
First Sunday of Advent Advent God is always close to us but we retain the freedom to pretend not to notice. St Augustine in his Confessions says, 'You were with me but I was not with You'. This gigantic step of closeness taken by God, at the birth of Jesus, is what we celebrate at Christmas. . . our attention is drawn in so many directions, we need to become more aware of God's closeness to us and reveal it to others by acts of kindness. We are called to seek and find God in all things. Finding God in all things is a gift.
