Can the human heart refrain

From partaking in her pain,

Sixth Station
Veronica wipes Jesus' face.

V. We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you.
R. Because by Your Holy Cross you have redeemed the world.

"He was despised and rejected by men . . . as one from whom all would turn their faces." Isaiah 52: 2-3

In the crowd that day there were those who hated Jesus. There were others who were just curious about him. But there were also those who loved him dearly. Veronica was one of them and to show that love she came forth to perform her heroic act of charity.

Let us pray:
Lord Jesus, you left the image of your face on the cloth of Veronica. Imprint in all our hearts the virtue of charity so that we may be always recognised Jesus Speaks as your followers because of the charity we show towards others.
