Stabat Mater dolorosa
Juxta crucem lacrymosa,
Dum pendebat Filius.

At the cross her station keeping,
Stood the mournful Mother weeping,
Close to Jesus to the last.

First Station
Jesus is condemned to die.

Invocation
V. We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you.
R. Because by Your Holy Cross you have redeemed the world.

"So Pilate, wishing to satisfy the crowd, released Barrabas and delivered Jesus to be crucified."
Mark 15: 15

Jesus places himself in the hands of sinful men and accepts condemnation and death to wipe away our sins.

Let us pray:
Jesus, you willingly accepted the results of this appalling miscarriage of justice; grant that when we are misjudged we may take courage from your example
and learn to forgive those who injure us.

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be to the Father

Responsory
V. Have mercy on us, O Lord.
R. Have mercy on us.

2nd Station

Stations are those of the parish church, St Louis and St Mary, Rathkenny
