St Davnet appears to have lived and died at Tydavnet at Sliabh Beagh, Co. Monaghan. Tradition speaks of her as a virgin, and she was also said to have founded a church or monastery. A bachall (staff), said to have belonged to her, survives and was used in the past as a test of truth.
