St Aloysius Gonzaga


St. Aloysius was from the princely family of Castglione and renounced all inheritance to become a Jesuit. He was born in 1568 near Mantua. St. Aloysius, while serving the sick during the plague, contracted the disease and died at age 23 in 1591. His spiritual advisor was Robert Bellarmine. He is the Patron Saint of Youth and students in Jesuit college.
