Tiberias

The city built by Herod Antipas, Tetrarch of Galilee, circa 18 AD, and named in honour of the Emperor Tiberius. It was located on the Western shore of the Sea of Galilee near hot springs. The city was planned like a Greek or Roman city, with streets crossing at right angles, and adorned with many public buildings, including a stadium on the seashore and a large synagogue.

Tiberias is mentioned only once in the New Testament John 6:23 - 35.
