St. Jane married Baron de Chantal and had six children. She later became a widow. With the assistance of her spiritual director Francis de Sales, she founded the Visitation nuns in 1610 at Annecy in Savoy, France. Before St. Jane de Chantal died in 1641, she had established 85 Monasteries.

He was probably the founder of the church at Killala. He may also be the founder and patron of the monastery of Inishmurray, off the Sligo coast.

St Attracta
Lived in the 6th or 7th Century. She had great healing powers according to local tradition. Her convents were famous for their hospitality and charity to the poor.
