Jesus Gives Us the Eucharist
Jesus knew that He would soon be put to death. So he told the apostles to meet Him in a certain room for His Last Supper with them.
Jesus took some bread, and when He had said the blessing, He broke it and gave it to the disciples. 'Take it and eat,' He said. 'This is My Body.'
Then He took a cup, and when He had returned thanks, He gave it to them.
'Drink, all of you, from this,' He said 'for this is My Blood, the Blood of the New Covenant, which is to be poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this as a remembrance of Me.'
Jesus gave His apostles His greatest Gift - His own Body and Blood under the appearances of bread and wine. He made his apostles priests and gave them the power to do the same thing in memory of Him.
